Kathy Connors Teaching Award
The Kathy Connors Teaching Award honors an outstanding art teacher / educator who is recognized by students, colleagues, and supervisors as someone who consistently inspires and mentors students in a cooperative, collegial, collaborative and nurturing manner.

Eligibility & Nomination Process
The Kathy Connors Teaching Award is designed to honor a person who has dedicated her/his art education career to excellence in teaching, mentoring, and collaboration. The recipient of this award will have been recognized by peers, students, and administrators. The Women's Caucus of the National Art Education Association invites nominations for the annual Kathy Connors Award given in honor of Kathy Connors, a highly respected and professionally active art educator, who exemplifies the characteristics listed above.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: The nominee should be an art educator, female or male, at any level who has demonstrated outstanding teaching, mentoring, and collaboration. The current president and president-elect of the Executive Board of the NAEA Women's Caucus may not be nominated.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
- Nominations may be submitted by a mentor or any NAEA member.
- The nomination announcement will appear in the NAEA News.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current membership of nominee in NAEA.
- Current vita of the nominee for the award.
- Cover letter from the person nominating the candidate.
- Brief statement, one double-spaced typewritten page, by the nominee about her/his work.
- Supplementary letters of recommendation are required from two students, one administrator, and one peer.
- Extra letters sent to the Chair of the Selection Committee will be returned to the nominator.
- Send the nomination packet in digital form (e.g., pdf) to the Award Chair by October 1 preceding the NAEA Annual Convention.
SELECTION PROCESS:
- A six-person selection committee (five voting members plus a neutral chair) will select the recipient of the Kathy Connors Teaching Award.
The selection committee will include:
- as one of its members, the President-Elect of the Women's Caucus.
- other suggested committee members are as follows:
- an established art educator
- an early professional art educator
- a Student representative of the Women's Caucus
- the Kathy Connors Teaching Award Coordinator (the neutral Chair) who is appointed by the Women's Caucus President
- At least three members of the selection committee should be members of the NAEA Women's Caucus.
2. The selection committee will make its recommendation to the Women's Caucus Executive Board for affirmation.
3. The announcement of the recipient and the time and place of the award may be announced in the NAEA WC Column in NAEA News and the web site http://naeawc.net
4. If there is no qualified nominee, the Kathy Connors Teaching Award will not be presented.

June King McFee Award
The McFee Award is given annually to honor an individual who has made distinguished contributions to the profession of art education, one who has one brought distinction to the field through an exceptional and continuous record of achievement in scholarly writing, research, professional leadership, teaching, or community service.

- The announcement of the recipient and the time and place of the award may be announced in the NAEA WC Column in NAEA News and the web site http://naeawc.net

Carrie Nordlund pre-K-12 Feminist Pedagogy Award
Carrie Nordlund pre-K-12 Feminst Pedagogy Award is designed to honor a person who has made a special effort to incorporate feminist pedagogy into her or his pre-K-12 teaching, and which pre-K-12 art educators, peers, and administrators have recognized as inclusive. The NAEA Women's Caucus invites nominations for the annual Carrie Nordlund pre-K-12 Feminist Pedagogy Award given in honor of Carrie Nordlund, the first recipient (2002) and highly respected, professionally active art educator who exemplifies a commitment to inclusive, fair, and equitable feminist teaching of art. The recipient of the Carrie Nordlund pre-K-12 Feminist Pedagogy Award is honored at the WC Awards ceremony held at the NAEA Annual Convention in which the awardee is invited to demonstrate or present her or his use of feminist pedagogy in pre-K-12 classrooms.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
The nominee should be an art educator, female or male, at any pre-K-12 level, who has demonstrated outstanding feminist teaching; that is, fair, equitable and inclusive treatment of all students. The current president and president-elect of the Executive Board of the NAEA Women's Caucus may not be nominated.
NOMINATION PROCESS:
1. Nominations may be submitted by any NAEA member.
2. The nomination announcement will appear in the NAEA News.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Current membership of nominee in NAEA. Current vita of the nominee for the award. Cover letter from the person nominating the candidate. Brief statement, one double-spaced typewritten page, by the nominee about her/his work. Supplementary letters of recommendation are required from any combination of administrators, peers, and art educators.
- Send the nomination packet in digital form (e.g., pdf) to the Award Chair by October 1 preceding the NAEA Annual Convention.
SELECTION PROCESS:
- A six-person selection committee (five voting members plus a neutral chair) will select the recipient of the Carrie Nordlund Pre-K-12 Award.
The selection committee will include
- as one of its members, the President of the Women's Caucus.
- Other suggested committee members are as follows:
-- an established art educator
-- at least two (2) pre-K-12 art educators, classroom or other content teacher
- the Carrie Nordlund Award Coordinator (the neutral Chair) who is appointed by the Women's Caucus President
- At least three members of the selection committee should be members of the NAEA Women's Caucus.
- The selection committee will make its recommendation to the Women's Caucus Executive Board for affirmation.
- The announcement of the recipient and the time and place of the award may be announced in the NAEA WC Column in NAEA News and the web site http://naeawc.net
- If there is no qualified nominee, the Carrie Nordlund pre-K-12 Award will not be presented.

Mary J. Rouse Award
The Rouse Award is given annually to recognize the contributions of an early professional who has evidenced potential to make significant contributions in the art education profession. The award is given in honor of Mary J. Rouse, a highly respected and professionally active art educator, whose untimely death in 1976 deeply affected the art education profession. In recognition of the contributions of an early professional in the field of art education, the Women's Caucus of the National Art Education Association invites nominations for the annual Mary J. Rouse Award.

The Maryl Fletcher de Jong Service Award
The Maryl Fletcher de Jong Service Award is given annually to honor an individual in the field of art education who has made noteworthy service contributions to art education as an advocate of equity for women and all people who encounter injustice. This individual contributes outstanding service of community, state, national, or international significance that contributes to eliminating discriminatory gender and other stereotyping practices for individuals and groups.
